Branding Ourselves
I recently came across an archived article from Fast Company's August 1997 issue. My first thought was how outdated this article about "branding" would be. After all, it was written 10 years ago. The article titled "A Brand Called You" was actually SO relevant to today's world and the "age of the individual". It reminded me of Time Magazine's award for person of the year as YOU and how the Internet has made such contributions to today's society. Don Hinchcliffe made a very interesting post on Time's award in his blog on Social Computing magazine. There is a whole notion in the Fast Company about branding ourselves to be the CEO of Me Inc. In general, Fast Company is known to be a great resource for career advice and as I will be looking for jobs soon ;) the concept of thinking of my own brand is exciting. What makes someone who they are and what is it they might stand for? When you walk out of an interview, how would you like to be remembered? What is one thing that is specific to only you, as a brand? All questions to think about...
